Cowboys can't ignore CeeDee Lamb's take on George Pickens

Somewhat surprisingly, the Dallas Cowboys avoided contract drama with George Pickens this offseason.

The former Pittsburgh Steelers draft pick agreed to play under the franchise tag, and he's now slated to make roughly $27 million before hitting free agency in 2027.

The Cowboys didn't make a long-term commitment to him, but he's said and done all the right things about wanting to stay with the organization for years to come.

That's why his partner in crime, CeeDee Lamb, also put some pressure on the front office by letting them know that he wants his sidekick to get paid.

“I always want him to win. I’m his biggest fan. I tell him this all the time, he’s elite at what he does. …I’m happy to have him on my team and vice versa, I’m sure he is too,” Lamb said, per The Athletic's Jon Machota. “I want him to get all the money in the world.”

Lamb's endorsement can't be overlooked. He's the face of the offense and one of the locker room's leaders, and he's embraced Pickens from the moment he arrived in Arlington.

Pickens stepped up for Lamb when he missed time last season, and now that they're both healthy, Lamb has some big expectations for the passing game.

“Lots of fireworks, lots of excitement, lots of touchdowns, lots of dances,” Lamb said.

Pickens developed an instant rapport with Dak Prescott, who looked like an MVP-caliber quarterback in Brian Schottenheimer's first year in charge.

Prescott has struggled to put together consecutive strong seasons, but with two of the most explosive pass catchers in the game, the Cowboys' offense should thrive again in 2026.

If that's the case, Jerry Jones and company will have no choice but to break the bank to keep Pickens in town.
