Jordan Love reveals Aaron Rodgers encounter at Steelers-Packers preseason game

Aaron Rodgers didn't play on Thursday in the Pittsburgh Steelers' preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. But he was there, and so was Packers quarterback Jordan Love.

As it turns out, these two had some words with each other before the game. 

There's obvious history here. Rodgers served as the quarterback for the Packers from 2008 to 2022. Love came on the scene in 2020. He was drafted by the team and became their starter in 2023.

So, these guys know each other. They've played on the same team before. There's love between these two. Now, Love is dishing on what their encounter was like before the preseason game.

Love described their brief moments together as friendly ones.

"Man, that was great. Just being able to see Aaron and just talk briefly," Love told reporters. "Any chance we get, it's always awesome"

Love added, "Anytime you see familiar faces on the other side, and someone I was able to share a room with for three years, so it was great to be able to see him."

Love didn't say exactly what he and Rodgers talked about, but it sounded light and fluffy.

"Nothing deep, nothing deep, just talking, just make sure everybody's good and seeing how we're doing, but nothing deep," Love said.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that he didn't see Rodgers before the game.

"I didn't get to say hello to him," LaFleur said. "That was a bummer. I was hoping to see him, but certainly a guy that I've got a ton of respect for. And you know, as long as he's not playing for the Green Bay Packers, I always root for him."

That was LaFleur's only chance. These two teams don't have another game scheduled against each other this season unless they make it to the Super Bowl.
