Buccaneers keep telling teams the same thing about Vita Vea

It has been a chaotic preseason for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as two of their best players, quarterback Baker Mayfield and defensive lineman Vita Vea, are unhappy with the way contract negotiations have gone with the team.

Both players are unrestricted free agents after this season, and their futures are very much in question as it relates to Tampa.

In Vea's case, he requested a trade earlier this month in an effort to land with a team that will pay him like one of the league's top interior run-stuffers.

While there has understandably been strong interest, the Buccaneers are reportedly holding firm in their desire to not trade Vea.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo on Friday night, the Buccaneers have received interest from the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers but have "remained steadfast" that they are not trading one of their top defensive players. They are also reportedly still keeping lines of communication open to get a new deal completed.
