The Texas A&M Aggies have picked up a big commitment via the transfer portal.
In fact, this is a massive win for head coach Bucky McMillan and his staff.
It's being reported that guard Jordan Pope, who previously played for the Texas Longhorns, is going to stay in-state and commit to the Aggies via the transfer portal.
Pope has four years of college experience, but he was recently granted a fifth year of eligibility through the injunction against the NCAA that has allowed the class of 2022 recruits to take advantage of the new age-based eligibility rules.
He'll use this extra year of eligibility with McMillan in College Station.

Checking in at 6-foot-1 as a senior out of Oakley, California, Pope averaged 13.1 points per game last season for the Longhorns while shooting 37.2% from three.
He notched four games with 20-plus points and also scored a season-high of 30 points in an overtime game with the Oklahoma Sooners, so Pope is without a doubt a big-time scorer and addition for Texas A&M.
Along with his scoring output, Pope averaged 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. In 2024-25 for the Longhorns, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
A three-star recruit, Pope committed to Oregon State out of high school, where he became a star as a sophomore. In that 2023-24 season, he averaged 17.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for the Beavers.
