The Tennessee Volunteers have found their quarterback for the class of 2028.
There's still a lot that can change, of course, and it's worth noting that 4-star quarterback Kaden Craft wasn't even really planning on making a commitment before his junior season.
He attended a Tennessee camp over the spring, and that added to the experience he had on Rocky Top in 2025 for a Volunteers game against Arkansas. That was a 34-31 SEC home win for Tennessee.
Throw in his relationship with Tennessee's offensive coordinator, Joey Halzle, and it made all the sense in the world for Craft to commit early.
He committed to the Vols on Monday over Florida, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon and LSU.

"I think it really just came down to the constant love from the coaches, and ever since I stepped on campus, they were kind of the leaders," Craft told 247Sports. "And every time I visited, they kept exceeding the bar and kept moving the bar."
The four-star was impressed with the Tennessee staff's ability to develop quarterbacks. He clearly trusts coach Halzle, and he saw that development in person in Knoxville.
"I thought I improved just in that one day at camp," Craft said. "And, obviously, Coach Halzle recruited me super hard, so it always felt right, even from the start."
Craft is Tennessee's first 2028 commitment, and he's a big one. According to the 247Sports Composite, he's the No. 8 overall quarterback in the 2028 class.
As a sophomore for Lake Norman High School (Mooresville, North Carolina), he completed 126 of 210 passes for 1,739 yards and 17 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He also rushed for 387 yards and 13 touchdowns.
