Josh Berry makes Wood Brothers history, but couldn't put No. 21 Ford back in victory lane

For the first time since 1994, the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford has four consecutive top-10 finishes, courtesy of Josh Berry. 

Berry, who won't return to the WBR organization next season, finished third in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire, becoming the first driver since Morgan Shepherd to give the historic team four straight top-10 results. 

But the Dollar Tree 301 could've been more for Berry and the No. 21 team if not for a slow final pit stop that forced Berry, who led 73 of 301 laps, to drive back through the field.

Berry made it back to third and appeared to have a beeline to second-place Bubba Wallace and race leader Ryan Blaney with 20 laps to go, but lapped traffic slowed his progress. He finished only 1.964 seconds back of Blaney, who also beat Berry for the win at New Hampshire in 2025. 

"We slid a little long [in the pit box] on that stop, just trying to get everything we could," Berry told USA Network. "Pit stop was a little slower, too. We just gave up too much track position early. Fought hard to get back through there, man. That was everything I had. 

"That was everything I could do today, and it was pretty good. It was a lot of fun. Great job by these guys."

Given that Berry is racing for his Cup Series career, his string of four straight top-10s is quite timely.
