Kyle Schwarber ties Ryan Howard with an impressive home run feat

Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber just continues to clobber home runs.

On Wednesday, Schwarber hit his 40th home run of the season.

It came via a three-run shot in the second to extend the lead to 6-0 over the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington.

That home run gave Schwarber his fourth 40-home-run season with the Phillies, tying him with Ryan Howard and putting him next to Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge among active players.

This is also just Schwarber’s fifth season with the Phillies. Howard played his entire 13-year MLB career with the franchise.

Since Schwarber came to Philadelphia in 2022, his lowest home run total was 38, which came in 2024, and he had a career-high 56 last season with 132 RBIs.

The Phillies brought back Schwarber on a five-year, $150 million deal this past offseason, although the Baltimore Orioles had a similar offer before they signed Pete Alonso.
