Chris Sale drops a legendary three-word line after shutting out the Dodgers

Chris Sale reacted to his masterpiece on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a way that only Chris Sale could.

The Atlanta Braves ace lefty Sale threw an absolute gem on Thursday versus the powerhouse Dodgers. Sale delivered a complete-game shutout on 109 pitches at Truist Park in Atlanta, Ga.

On top of that, Sale had 11 strikeouts and scattered just five hits with zero walks. That propelled the Braves to a 1-0 victory to secure a three-game series sweep of the Dodgers.

One of Sale’s finest moments of the evening came in the third inning when he threw a staggering 100.1 mph fastball to Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani. That marked the first time that the now 37-year-old Sale had touched triple digits since all the way back in 2018.

Sale was asked about the 100-mph heater after the game by Braves sideline reporter Wiley Ballard, who posed the question of “How?” Immediately, Sale delivered the priceless response of, “With my arm.”

Now in his 16th MLB season, Sale is a 10-time All-Star, a three-time strikeouts leader, and a one-time Cy Young Award winner. He does not produce quite as much heat these days, especially after a 2020 Tommy John surgery. But Sale still has plenty left in his bag when he needs it and always brings out surprises whenever he faces the Dodgers.
