New White Sox OF Tommy Pham has been an exceptional postseason player

Outfielder Tommy Pham, whom the Chicago White Sox acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday, has been exceptional in the postseason throughout his career. 

White Sox studio host Chuck Garfien posted on X that Pham has hit .317/.331/.492 with six home runs in 37 career postseason games. Pham also has 12 postseason runs batted in.

Pham had no hits and a walk in 14 plate appearances over nine games for the New York Mets in 2026. Philadelphia signed Pham on June 27 after he was released by the Baltimore Orioles. He was granted free agency by the Mets on April 27. Pham did not appear for Baltimore or Philadelphia.

This will be the second stint for Pham with the White Sox. He hit .266/.330/.380 with five HRs and 19 RBI in 297 at-bats in 70 games during the 2024 season. Pham has played in the postseason with St. Louis, Tampa Bay, San Diego, Arizona and Kansas City. Pham last appeared in the postseason for Kansas City in 2024.

The White Sox traded Pham and pitcher Erick Fedde to St. Louis as part of a three-team trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who sent current star third baseman Miguel Vargas to the White Sox. Vargas is arguably the White Sox's 2026 Most Valuable Player. Fedde returned to the White Sox as a free agent this season.
