Mike Vrabel calls out Drake Maye after disastrous three-interception game

The New England Patriots shut down the defending champions in the first half, but they still lost.

The Seattle Seahawks came back to win 13-10, scoring 13 unanswered points with Drew Lock at the helm.

Lock's execution was far from perfect, but unlike Drake Maye, he took care of the football.

The Patriots signal-caller, on the other hand, threw three interceptions, including one head-scratcher that eventually sealed the game. Unsurprisingly, head coach Mike Vrabel was far from satisfied with that.

The Patriots turned the ball over three times and failed to create a single takeaway; that's not a winning formula.

Regarding his quarterback, Coach Vrabel reaffirmed that Maye knows his performance wasn't anything close to the standards.

“You can’t throw three interceptions. Drake knows that,” Vrabel said.

All in all, Maye finished the game with 23 completions on 33 tries for 178 yards, one score and three picks. He also took three sacks, some of which were more on him than on the offensive line.

It's hard to blame the third-year quarterback for everything that went wrong in this one, and they were in a position to win — or at least tie — the game down the stretch.

That said, you have to beat the best to be the best, and not many teams will manage to get past the defending champions after throwing three picks.
