Angel Reese, HC Kara Lawson address Team USA's dominant win over Hungary

Angel Reese is usually a fierce opponent against players such as Caitlin Clark and the rest of their WNBA colleagues, but right now the rivals are teammates on Team USA.

It's working out well. Team USA just had a massive win over Hungary in the FIBA World Cup quarterfinals. If they win the whole thing, it will mark USA's fifth consecutive gold medal, so there's a lot at stake.

Reese had a solid showing in the game with nine points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block, according to Fox Sports. As usual, her defense really helped the team earn the dominant win.

Angel Reese's defense helps Team USA dominate Hungary

After the game, Team USA was happy but also serious about what it is doing on the court. Reese talked about what made the difference in the team's victory. She said it was about being "dialed in."

"Everybody's just all dialed in offensively and defensively," Reese said, according to ESPN. "We talked about our keys, what it's going to take to win gold, and I think tonight we did everything that coach asked us to do."

Defense was a theme in this win.

"I thought it started with our activity on the defensive end," coach Kara Lawson said, according to ESPN. "And so our ability to turn them over, get out in transition, get some advantage plays, 2-on-1, 3-on-2, I thought gave us a lot of confidence early."

"And then our ability to shoot the 3-point shot...we have a really good 3-point shooting team, and so I just thought that's what kind of jump-started us."
