Deshaun Watson reacts after Browns' season-opening loss to Jaguars

The stats look better than the tape, and they still leave plenty to be desired.

Watson completed 16 of 22 passes for 205 yards, one touchdown and one pick. At least four of his completions came on passes batted at the line of scrimmage, and the bulk of his production came on a garbage-time 46-yard bomb to Denzel Boston for his lone score of the evening.

He also tried to show that he can still make plays with his legs, scrambling six times for 38 yards.

That said, he could've found open receivers multiple times instead of taking off at the first sign of a collapsing pocket. So, again, the numbers might be misleading.

When asked about his interception, the former Clemson star once again didn't seem to agree with the critics, and he thinks that's just a part of the game:

“Nah, bad plays are going to happen all the time,” Watson said (h/t Camryn Justice). “Look all around the league. Everyone throws interceptions, everyone makes bad plays. You got to give defense credit. He made a good play on that.”

Of course, he's got a valid point right there. Everyone makes mistakes; the thing is that he seems to make them way too often.

And as much as every player should have a short memory and just move on to the next play, this was just too predictable. There was no way this would've ended any differently.
