One NFL team reportedly wants Nick Saban in a role with their franchise

Nick Saban officially retired from coaching in January of 2024, and he's been a sports personality ever since. With a football mind as great as Saban's, though, it wouldn't be ridiculous to think he might get back into the sport at some point in a coaching role.

One NFL owner is reportedly focused on getting Saban involved with his team.

According to a report from Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland on Friday, Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam wants the former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach in a position with the organization.

Haslam could put Saban with Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, if the Browns are lucky enough to get him in 2027. Now, that would make for some great football watching.

"I have to say this because I've heard a lot of rumors, but I heard Jimmy is not done going after Nick Saban," Grossi said on ESPN Cleveland. "Now Nick wouldn't coach, but he would have some kind of role. And to combine him with Arch Manning."

So, it's not that Saban would replace Browns head coach Todd Monken, but he would instead fill some other role in the organization. Perhaps Saban would be more open to this kind of position anyway, without having the stress and pressure of a head coaching role. Plus, working with a quarterback as talented and who has as much of a potential as Manning has to be an intriguing offer. Whether it happens remains to be seen, but it's certainly a storyline to watch.
