Darian Mensah sets ACC, Miami records against Wake Forest

Darian Mensah set ACC and Miami Hurricanes records for consecutive completions to start a game with 23 in their win at Wake Forest on Friday and 31 overall, dating back to the 77-7 win over Florida A&M on Sept. 10. 

Carson Beck previously held the Miami records with 15 consecutive completions against Bethune-Cookman in 2025 and 24 overall.

Former North Carolina and current Tennessee Titans QB Mitchell Trubisky previously held the ACC overall consecutive completion record and was tied with Michael Rocco of Virginia in 2012 and Trevor Lawrence of Clemson in 2019 with 18 to begin a game.

Mensah entered the game at Wake Forest, first nationally completing 91.1 percent of his pass attempts. In the first two 2026 Miami games, Mensah completed 41 passes in 45 attempts for 653 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions.

Mensah has now completed 93.8 percent of his pass attempts in 2026 through halftime against Wake Forest. In addition to being first nationally in completion percentage entering Friday night, Mensah is fifth, averaging 326.5 passing yards per game, second with a 271.67 passer rating and tied for third in TD passes.
