Olivia Miles breaks Caitlin Clark record en route to WNBA history

Olivia Miles and the Minnesota Lynx entered Sunday with a 31-10 record, the best in the WNBA.

Miles, the No. 2 pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft after Azzi Fudd, has been exceptional in her first year.

On Sunday, the Lynx traveled to face the Connecticut Sun, and in the second quarter, Miles put her name in the WNBA record books while breaking a mark previously held by Caitlin Clark.

Miles scored her 771st point, surpassing the mark for points in a rookie season set by Clark in 2024, when she had 769 points.

Miles has gotten off to a monster start this year as a rookie. She is averaging 19.7 points with 6.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds entering Sunday. She also has a 38.9 percent clip from three and a 48.8 percent mark from the field.

Clark played in 40 games as a rookie, and Sunday marked Miles' 40th game of the season. That means the Lynx star still has time to add to the record and make it even tougher to beat going forward.

Miles is also the clear frontrunner for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award, and the Lynx are en route to a No. 1 seed if they can win a couple more games.
