Tennessee Titans fans love star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, but sometimes they wish he would talk less.
Before Tennessee's Week 2 home game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Simmons seemed to throw shade at Jalen Hurts, saying the defense "just [needed] to make him be a quarterback." Hurts was a QB on Sunday ... a clutch QB.
With the Titans leading the Eagles 20-17 late in the fourth quarter, Hurts led a nine-play, 65-yard touchdown drive. With 0:09 left, he threw a three-yard TD pass to second-year wide receiver Darius Cooper while rolling to his right. The Eagles took a 24-20 lead after kicker Jake Elliott made the extra point.
On the ensuing drive, Titans second-year QB Cam Ward failed on his Hail Mary attempt, giving the Eagles the win. Philadelphia is now 2-0, while Tennessee is 0-2.

Hurts wasn't perfect on Sunday. He completed 26-of-37 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions. His first interception came in the red zone in the first quarter, which Titans safety Amani Hooker returned for 92 yards.
Hurts, however, did something his critics often say he can't do: put the offense on his back. Without guard Landon Dickerson — placed on injured reserve because of a knee issue — the QB was under duress throughout the afternoon. Philadelphia surrendered three sacks for -12 yards.
The QB also lost star running back Saquon Barkley briefly. He suffered a stinger in the first quarter and missed the rest of the first half. He returned in the second but finished with just nine yards rushing on four carries.
Hurts is a QB all right. A pretty good QB who regularly finds a way to win and prove his skeptics wrong.
