College football rankings: New AP Top 25 brings big moves for multiple teams

The LSU vs. Ole Miss game certainly lived up to the hype, and with minutes left on the clock, it could still have gone either way. But, ultimately, LSU fell to Ole Miss, 32-24, and that made both of these teams move in the new AP Top 25 rankings.

Thanks to that win over LSU, Ole Miss is moving up, and the Tigers are moving down. That's just how things work in football. You win, you get higher in the rankings, and you lose, you fall.

Another major move that happened with the new AP Top 25 is the Florida Gators going from unranked to No. 21. Florida had a big win at Auburn, and that, combined with some of the teams towards the bottom of the Top 25 losing, was enough to take the Gators up into flirting with the top-20 range.

Not surprisingly, a big upset means major changes in the rankings, and that's the case for Texas A&M. The team was No. 9 before Saturday, and now it's No. 23.

Texas A&M lost to an unranked opponent, the Kentucky Wildcats, on its own turf, which isn't a good look. Now, there are real questions about this team's offense and how it will do going forward. It's just one game, but when you lose to an unranked opponent, it takes on much more weight.
