Browns players and fans have different thoughts on Deshaun Watson

The Cleveland Browns just secured their first win of the season and, perhaps more importantly, of the Todd Monken era.

It was also Deshaun Watson's 10th win since joining the Browns, which would put him at $23 million per win in five years. That's far from good. Given how he's dealt with criticism and the fan base, it's easy to understand why the Browns' faithful still don't want to see him take a single snap for their team, even after a win.

But according to local radio host Anthony Lima, that's just not the reality in the locker room. If anything, the vibes in the locker room are solid, and the players are fully supportive of No. 4.

“You guys, as the fans, might hate Deshaun Watson’s guts, rightfully so,” Lima said on 92.3 The Fan. “It’s been abysmal. But those players were fighting their [expletive] off to try and get a win, even after a two-hour delay, where we had no idea what it was going to look like when they came out of that tunnel.” 

Lima also addressed how both locker rooms felt during the weather delay, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worried and not doing much, while the Browns were pretty much partying.

“We even got the report that Tiffany Blackmon said it was like a ghost in that Tampa Bay locker room, there was no talking, it was quiet,” continued Lima. “She talked about the Brows; it was music, and everyone was laughing, having a good time. Say what you want about hating 4, those guys don’t. Even when he was named a captain and everyone was appalled, those guys like him. They like him, they are treating him like a football player.”
