Rams' Matthew Stafford moves up all-time list, further solidifying legendary status

Monday night saw Matthew Stafford take another step towards football immortality. 

The reigning NFL MVP moved up on the league's all-time touchdown list while leading the Los Angeles Rams against the New York Giants on the biggest regular-season stage.

In making history during "Monday Night Football," Stafford's second touchdown pass of the game propelled him into a tie for sixth place with Philip Rivers. But that was before halftime, and it wouldn't take long for Stafford to break the tie. 

His next touchdown pass, the 426th of his career, was the second to Davante Adams of the night and moved him one ahead of Rivers for sole possession of sixth place. 

Stafford will need to surpass 500 to move up again

However, it will be a while until Stafford can move up again and crack the top five. Because next up on the league's all-time list is Brett Favre, who once held the record for the most with 508, meaning Stafford's next major milestone will be reaching 500 before passing the gun slinger.
