Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Enrique Hernandez is the type of player any team would love to have on the roster.
Hernandez has appeared at every position aside from catcher during his career, typically providing solid defense wherever he plays. He has been decent enough with the bat to earn regular playing time, posting a .235/.304/.402 batting line with 134 homers and 204 doubles over his 4,248 career plate appearances.
While those are strong numbers for a utility man, Hernandez has been excellent during the postseason. The Dodgers all-time leader in playoff games, Hernandez entered Tuesday with a .272/.339/.486 batting line in his 328 postseason plate appearances, hitting 16 homers and 11 doubles.
Hernandez continued his excellent playoff performance on Tuesday. He was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in the Dodgers 3-1 victory over the Braves as Los Angeles took a 2-1 lead in the NLDS. The home run brought Hernandez into a tie with Yankees star Aaron Judge and Hall of Famers David Ortiz and Jim Thome for the 18th-most career home runs in playoff history.

The postseason is littered with stellar performances from unexpected players. The likes of Aaron Boone, David Freese, Billy Hatcher and Howie Kendrick stepped up when their teams needed a big performance. Hernandez has been a vital part of three Dodgers championships, earning World Series rings in 2020, 2024 and 2025. If he can continue to deliver throughout the 2026 postseason, he could earn a fourth ring for his collection.
