Pressure builds on Eagles' Nick Sirianni after collapse against Rams

The Philadelphia Eagles dropped to 2-2 with a 24-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 4.

The Eagles led 20-10 at halftime, but they went scoreless in the second half.

As a result, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has a lot of questions to answer, and Stephen A. Smith is one of many who laid into him after the ugly loss.

“Nick Sirianni’s in a world of trouble. And he should be," Smith said during an episode of "First Take" on Tuesday.

Smith brought up the "repetitive" complaints and called out Sirianni for his comments about not knowing the identity of the Eagles.

Here's what Sirianni said about the team's identity after the loss to the Rams.

"It's a good, healthy sample size right now. I don't think we really know our identity of what we want to be -- We know where we're going, we know what we need to be able to do, but there's still some identity questions that we still have to continue to answer as we continue through this," Sirianni said, via Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Nick Wright also called out Sirianni for the way he has coached as of late.

Is Nick Sirianni on the hot seat?

Right now, there are plenty of reasons to believe that Sirianni is on the hot seat.

The Eagles coach also took the blame for a couple of questionable decisions in the loss to the Rams, and his postgame comments did nothing but raise eyebrows.

In 2025, the Eagles gave Sirianni a "multiyear" extension, although the terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Whether or not the Eagles move on remains to be seen, but if they can't figure things out and make a playoff run, it might be the end of the road for Sirianni in Philadelphia.

The Eagles face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5 in London, and Liam Coen's team is off to a hot 3-1 start.
