The Chicago Bears have been playing without superstar quarterback Caleb Williams for the past few weeks.
Williams suffered an injury in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago has used both Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent in Williams' absence.
When Williams will return remains to be seen, but there are some positive developments on his injury front.
On Friday, Bears head coach Ben Johnson spoke to reporters just days before the Week 5 game against the Green Bay Packers, and he offered an update on the star QB.
"We got him progressively increasing the amount of running that's going on, and of course the throwing aspect of it is a big part of his position as well. Our guys have a good plan in place and we're just going step by step with that right now," Johnson said, via Chris Emma of The Score.
So, Williams is making progress without any setbacks. Johnson said earlier that Williams is labeled as "week-to-week", so they will wait and see how he feels going forward before making any decisions.
Bagent is set to start in Week 5, and the Bears have gotten off to a 3-1 start even with Williams missing the past two games, so there is a lot of hope in Chicago right now.
