After missing three games while recovering from a torn hamstring, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams returned on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
It was certainly a possibility that Williams would be a bit rusty and get off to a slow start, but it was, in fact, the exact opposite of rust that Williams showed in a 31-23 win.
In his return, Williams completed 30-of-36 passes for 305 yards with a touchdown. It was just the seventh time in his career that Williams eclipsed 300 passing yards and just the third time he's done so without throwing an interception.
Williams completed his first 14 passes of the game, but that was not even the most impressive stat. According to ESPN Insights, Williams was a perfect 26-for-26 when Atlanta failed to get pressure, good for a new NFL record in that category.
Williams also became just the third quarterback in NFL history to reach 50 touchdown passes before throwing 15 interceptions. Overall, it was an excellent day for Williams in his return from what once looked like a potential season-ending injury.
Welcome back, Caleb!

Chicago has now played two full games with Williams at quarterback, and the results speak for themselves. The Bears have won both of those games, and the offensive numbers have been quite impressive.
In both games that Williams has completed, Chicago has averaged 45 points and 460 yards of offense. The offense has scored 12 touchdowns (three passing, nine rushing) and collected 46 first downs.
It's simply been a dominant performance from the Bears offense in all phases when they have their captain and signal caller leading the offense.

Chicago will soon have a chance to showcase its offensive firepower to a national audience, as its next three games fall in prime-time slots.
Week 7 will be a "Thursday Night Football" matchup against the New England Patriots, Week 8 will be "Monday Night Football" against the Seattle Seahawks and Week 9 will be "Sunday Night Football" against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Bears will be under the national spotlight, and it will be a chance for Williams and the offense to show the NFL exactly what they're capable of.
