LeBron James wasn't the only member of the new-look Philadelphia 76ers to make his debut with his new team on Tuesday night. Jaylen Brown also opened up the next chapter of his career.
With most of the attention focused on James starting year 24 at Madison Square Garden, Brown was able to fly under the radar with a productive performance in helping the 76ers spoil the New York Knicks' celebratory night that opened with last season's champions receiving their rings and raising their title banner.
Brown scored 19 points in 35 minutes while connecting on 7-of-14 shots from the field and 2-of-4 from long range as the 76ers beat the Knicks 106-100.
He was also two rebounds shy of a double-double with eight to go along with six assists, one block and one steal.
Also sharing the spotlight with one of the highlights of the night, Brown was part of an attempt at a recreation of the iconic image between James and Dwyane Wade.

It's only one game and Brown will still undoubtedly explode for more monstrous games eventually, but his efficient play and ability to fit in with a star-studded team was on display.
Jaylen Brown was traded to Philadelphia by the Boston Celtics in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks (2028 and 2031) and two second-round picks (2028 and 2030).

And at 29 and already a five-time All-Star entering the 2026-27 season, Brown still has plenty of time to build a legacy in Philadelphia compatible to the one he left behind in Boston. In 10 seasons with the Celtics, he posted averages of exactly 20 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game and earned an NBA championship of his own as the 2024 Finals MVP.
