The Detroit Lions got a victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, but the win took a backseat to a sad moment on the field. Lions linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a neck injury during the game and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
After the game, the Lions issued an official statement saying that Campbell was resting and recovering while getting more medical care, but didn't shed much more light on the injury.
Since then, players and others in the NFL have offered their prayers for Campbell. Lions head coach Dan Campbell even talked about the power of people praying for the player while speaking with reporters on Monday, saying, "It's positive, so your prayers are working. Please continue to do that."
Now, Dan Campbell's wife is also speaking out. She took to social media on Monday to congratulate the Lions on their win over the Vikings but, more importantly, to offer prayers for Jack.
"Victory Monday!!! Prayers for Jack, we love you 46!!! #onepride #winning #goodnews," Holly Campbell posted on Instagram.
Fans were quick to comment on the post and offer up their support.
"Think everyone is holding their breath until we hear Jack is ok. Great game yesterday and defeating the undefeated," one said.
"My heart has been so heavy thinking about Jack Campbell since yesterday's game," another added. "I just can't seem to get him off my mind. Sending so much love and prayers to Jack and his family. May God wrap His loving arms around him, give him strength through this difficult time, and guide him toward healing and a full recovery..."
