The Detroit Lions had an emotional moment on the field during their win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Injuries are never fun, but when those injuries get extra serious, that's when things get really emotional and just frightening.
During the fourth quarter of the game, Lions linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a serious injury and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. It was a neck injury, and after the game, the Lions issued a statement that he was resting.
"Jack Campbell is resting and will remain in a local hospital tonight, for continued evaluation and monitoring. The team will provide further updates as we have them," the Lions stated in a post on X.
When Campbell went down on the field, his teammates rallied around him and were visibly shaken. Many of them were crying and obviously deeply concerned for their friend and teammate.
After the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell had an emotional moment in the locker room with his team. He led them in a prayer for Campbell, and the Lions shared the moment on social media.
Dan Campbell talked to the team in the locker room, and he added that he didn't have any new information about the player's status but led the group in a special prayer for him.
"So, here's what I wanna do, man. We're gonna take a knee," he said, as shared by the team on X. "Now, I wanna pray for Jack and let's keep him in our thoughts and prayers, man."
Campbell also told reporters after the game that he was praying for the player and his family.
