Atlanta Braves super-utility player Mauricio Dubon is a prime candidate for the Toronto Blue Jays to target this offseason.
The fact that he can play almost every position except pitcher and catcher would provide manager John Schneider with roster flexibility.
As a three-time Gold Glove utility winner, he would also supply them with elite defense. He earned his third Gold Glove in 2026, which was highlighted by a 6 Outs Above Average (OAA), a 4 fielding run value and a 87.9 mph arm strength.
He's also known for his prime clubhouse presence, which earned him the 2026 Heart and Hustle Award. The Blue Jays acquiring utility players has panned out with players such as Ernie Clement and Josh Smith. Adding Dubon would be a suitable fit as he shares a similar profile with both players.

When it comes to his offensive profile, he provides a contact-first approach and also possesses top-notch plate discipline. He sported an 11.8% strikeout rate and a 15.3% whiff rate that both ranked in the 90-plus percentile.
He also brings a winning pedigree as a former World Series champion in 2022 with the Houston Astros.
Dubon would be a cost-effective option that would bolster the Blue Jays' bench.
The Blue Jays can snag him on a short-term deal (two-year, $16 million) which is highly affordable. Dubon put up respectable numbers in 2026 batting .276 with 10 home runs, 73 RBI, 12 stolen bases and a .720 OPS.
