On Thursday evening September 5, it was brought to the public's attention that one of the performance horse industry's cornerstone stallions was laid to rest. It was stated that "Streaker" was euthanized after having unexpected complications during recovery from a previously scheduled surgery.
A Streak Of Fling was 25 years old and currently standing at Lazy E Ranch, owned by Fulton Performance Horses. This legendary stallion had more than 10 million in progeny earnings along with QData leading sire in 2022, and no. 7 QData leading barrel sire in 2023. Not only are his offspring talented barrel racing horses, but we have also seen his progeny in the roping pen and gathering their own list of accolades.
His pedigree is widely respected with many great AQHA racehorses to boot. His sire Streakin Six was a world champion racehorse earning himself $473,934 throughout his lifetime. Streakin Six has sired an incredible list of competitive horses with $17 million in progeny earnings. Streaker's dam, Moon Fling, also had a successful racing career earning $36,507 in her lifetime before becoming an esteemed broodmare.
Not only did A Streak Of Fling have a successful sire career, but he was also a competitive athlete himself. He earned $27,645 with 3 race wins and 4 seconds. He also was a great calf horse to the family as well.
Many horse owners breed their mares to this incredible stallion and have a long list of futurity incentives to be part of as well. Those incentives include 25 of the largest programs available to stud owners. Some of those include the Pink Buckle, Ruby Buckle, Breeders Challenge, and Future Fortunes.
