I'd known this event was coming up, but had no plans to make the drive up to LA for it. The night before the event, Jason Ellis' manager messaged me with a VIP invite though, so I had to reconsider. I saw that "members of the Bones Brigade" would be joining Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis on stage, so I messaged my buddy Steve Caballero (name drop!) to see if he was driving up from San Diego County and could I get a ride. Cab is the nicest guy in the world and said yes, so I hopped in his ride and up the 5 we rode.

"Join Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis for the Final recording of Hawk vs Wolf Live at the Comedy Store in LA. This event features comedians Bert Kreischer, Adam Ray, Pete Lee, Stef Tolev and you'll also catch some of the iconic skateboarding team, the Bones Brigade! From Bert's hilarious mix-up during his first ollie attempt to a surprise moment when John Feldmann from Goldfinger joins Tony Hawk to perform “Superman” live, this is one episode you won't want to miss!"

We arrived at The Comedy Store and the line outside full of skate fans was staggering. Dudes holding boards they wanted to get signed, everyone wanting to fist-bump Cab or get a selfie with him—it was overwhelming. Security at the VIP patio was a little harsh, stressing over my cameras I had with me, but eventually let us in so we could go hang in the green room early. Already chilling in the green room were Hawk, Tommy Guerrero and Jason Ellis. Not long after, in walked Bert Kreischer, Atiba Jefferson, Miles Goodman, Zach Saraceno, Gino Perez, Steve Saiz, Uncle Lazer and a few of the opening comics. It was rad to see the comics really fanning out on The Bones Brigade.
