After complaining that not enough skateparks being built nowadays have "straight f—king ledges," Quartersnacks decided to dedicate a skate jam to the idea. Enter this 20-foot long ledge. Check the clips and then get on over to Tompkins Square Park in Manhattan because the box is still there. Cheers Snackman.

"Adidas x QS long ledge jam from October 18, 2025. We didn't have enough cameras; apologies to a bunch of people whose tricks we missed. Video by Greg Navarro."

More info on the whole deal from the QS site: "Way back when, we were reporting on a new skatepark across the Atlantic opening and someone left a now-immortal comment.

“I’ve always wondered what skatepark builders have against STRAIGHT F—KING LEDGES. I live in CO and there’s a skatepark in every town with A 20 foot cradle but not a STRAIGHT F—KING LEDGE at any of em. What are the kids gonna do with a 20 FOOT CRADLE?!?! Just build us a STRAIGHT F—KING LEDGE and be done with it!”

In the twelve years since, anytime we have reported on a built-for-skateboarding structure, we simply had to commentate on whether or not the park, plaza, et al. included a …Straight F—king Ledge™.

Today, more New York City skateparks have Straight F—king Ledges™, though probably not in the abundance that a Straight F—king Ledge™-enthusiast would want.

So why not? We had already learned that high-concept structures are too much of a diceroll (see #14). Instead, we would practice what we preached. We were supposed to do a skate jam at Tompkins with adidas, and for it, we built, yes: a Straight F—king Ledge™.

Originally, we were supposed to mimic the proportions of Staten Island’s ABC ledge. (Shout out to @anyoneskating for getting those measurements like five minutes after the story post on the QS IG went up.) However, that ledge is 30-feet long, and unless you’re Mark Humienik, sliding across the whole thing isn’t really what that spot is known for.

Angle iron comes in 20-foot strips, so we chopped the ABC Ledge’s proportions down by ten feet, with the 14-inch height and 20-inch width identical to it."

More from our friends at Quartersnacks:

Of course Humienik, Tristen Rowean, and Antonio Durao are the sickest dudes in here.
