No skateboarding scene in the world is as resilient as Philly's. After decades of back-and-forth with Love Park, then City Hall, "Muni" became the stomping grounds for the current crop of Philly rippers, loading tons of videos with clips from the plaza, magazine covers and more. Alas, the city of Philadelphia set to tearing down and redeveloping this plaza as well. Brian Panebianco and a crew of familiar faces weren't going to leave quietly though, every rearranged game piece, every removed floor tile, was a new opportunity to make a once in a lifetime spot, get a clip, and commemorate Muni forever. This video is incredible. Take it in.

"Filmed across a 7 month span, “the final plaza” documents the last days of The Municipal Services Building, a turning point for Philadelphia as the only remaining plaza at 15th and JFK was destroyed. ‘Muni’ takes on a new look as the dominos are taken out one by one, game pieces are re-arranged, it’s loss becomes a reality. Featuring Kevin Bilyeu, Chris Falo, Kevin Liedtke and the rest of the downtown crew. This ones for Philly & dedicated to Tim Achille, one of the best to do it here."

All is not lost however as the city of Philadelphia has released plans for the new design and it does include space for skateboarding. Salute to Penny and all the Philly heads.
