Coming out of one of our favorite countries in Eastern Europe, and home of the venerated Simple Session contest, check out this documentary on Estonian skateboarding. Tap in to the journey of skateboarding behind the iron curtain from the 1970s and 80s Soviet-era slalom days through the raw and sketchy DIY underground of the 90s and 2000s to the thriving modern tight little skate scene Estonia has today. And if you've got the means to make it out for a Simple Session, or any type of visit, we can't recommend it enough! English subtitles available obviously.

"Skateboarding, with its all-encompassing lifestyle, personal expression, creativity, and rebellious spirit, has grown into something more than just doing tricks in Estonia. Skaters repeat in unison: "Skateboarding has given me everything." Skateboarding is their life. Skateboarding is freedom. This is the story of a scene spanning five decades in Estonia, from the clay wheels used to make boards in Võru in the 1980s to today's youth, for whom the whole world is open."
