If anyone out there is still saying “vert is dead” in 2024—even jokingly—they’re sorely mistaken. And in case you need some proof as to why, well, just watch this clip below. Gui Khury just landed the world's first kickflip body varial 900 at 15 years old. Take a look:

Anyone who does the “World's First” anything is pretty much an instant legend (within reason, of course), and Gui is well on his way to being one of the absolute greats. I mean, honestly...he sort of already is.

He’s been chasing this unfathomable, mind-melting trick for a few years now and has officially secured it as of Thursday, August 22nd. History has been made (yet again) as this nine-time X Games medalist, three-time Guinness World Record holder, 1080-on-vert magician did what most would consider the unthinkable.

On a random Thursday afternoon, no less!

Everyone from X Games to Tony Hawk and beyond has shared the clip, which is no surprise. It’s been spreading like wildfire since it was posted and we’re here to add a little fuel to it ourselves.

"Congratulations to Gui Khury on landing this elusive NBD that he's been chasing for years: kickflip body-varial 900," said Tony Hawk on Instagram. Tacking on, "Yay vert." You know you're doing something right when you get the nod from The Birdman.

Gui has been on an absolute tear the past few years, breaking records, winning contests and progressing the sport at a rapid pace. But locking in this kickflip body-varial 900 (honestly, it sounds crazy just typing that out) has undoubtedly been the pinnacle of his skateboarding journey up to this point, which is pretty crazy considering everything else he's already accomplished.

What’s even crazier is that he’s just getting started!

The future is unbelievably bright for Gui. In fact, it’s almost scary to try and imagine what’s next on his hit list. I mean, seriously…where do you go from here? Well, we will certainly find out soon enough. And maybe it’ll just be another random Thursday when we all least expect it again? Hope so.

Congrats, Gui! This is truly incredible.
