On its closing date of June 1, 2025, Arizona Snowbowl set a new personal best, having offered 185 skiable days during the 2024-2025 ski season, which was more than any previous winter.
It all started in November. At the beginning of the 2024-2025 ski season, snowfall slammed ski resorts across the southwest, benefitting the likes of Arizona Snowbowl. The fall storm allowed the ski resort to open on November 8, 2024 marking the earliest opening date in Arizona Snowbowl's 87-year operating tenure.
Aside from Arapahoe Basin, Arizona Snowbowl was open longer than any mountain destination in Colorado this year.

The rest of this past ski season didn’t prove dramatic for Arizona Snowbowl snowfall-wise. By season’s end, the ski resort had received 200 inches of snow, which is 60 inches less than its average benchmark.
But, in late May 2025, Arizona Snowbowl received seven inches of springtime powder. Soon afterward, the ski resort announced a season extension through Memorial Day weekend. It wasn’t the first extension. Previously, Arizona Snowbowl had pushed its operating window into early May.
Then, another extension arrived, this time adding May 31 and June 1 to the schedule, setting the 185 skiable days record.
This season and the last have included several new records at Arizona Snowbowl. In 2024, when the ski resort also remained open until June 1, it established its latest closing date in history (that season was also the ski resort's longest until this season surpassed it).
Arizona Snowbowl was open from top to bottom this past weekend, but the resort's grooming team had to get creative.
Like many ski resorts that stay open late season, the groomers were able to push enough snow around to form a wide-enough trail that extended to the bottom of the mountain. The white ribbon was narrow, but ski and ride Arizonans did, and that's all that matters.
The resort's lone trail can still be seen on its webcam today, June 2, 2025. Check out a screenshot that was taken at approximately 2:00 p.m. PST below.
The recent string of extended operating windows have quickly solidified Arizona Snowbowl as a new kid on the block when it comes to lift-served skiing in June. For years, the roster, which included the likes of Killington, Vermont, and Mammoth Mountain, California, was relatively fixed.
But now, Arizona Snowbowl is developing a reputation for grabbing headlines as its late season offerings best larger, better-known ski resorts.
Will Arizona Snowbowl push further into the spring and perhaps even the summer next ski season? Hard to say. But for now, it’s safe to assume that another year spent skiing in June was plenty satisfying for Flagstaff locals.
