Your favorite skier's favorite ski mountaineer, Sam Anthamatten, teamed up with this longtime sponsor Faction Skis to drop a limited-edition run of his signature big-mountain freeride ski. The Faction Dancer 3 Sam Anthamatten limited-edition ski—with just 150 pairs available worldwide—is a showcase of Sam’s mastery of human-powered big mountain riding. It's a big, stiff ski designed to for high-speed riding down steep, gnarly terrain in the world's biggest mountains.
Anthamatten has demonstrated that time and again in the Alps, Alaska, Himalaya, and more while competing on the Freeride World Tour and starring in numerous film parts over the last decade. Born and raised in the jagged mountains of Zermatt, Switzerland, Anthamatten earned his IFMGA guide pin at just 24 years old, competed on the FWT and now travels to remote ranges of the world, blending skiing, climbing, and paragliding into mind-blowing adventures aboard the Dancer 3.
The new limited-edition ski features art from Anthamatten's Faction teammate Simon Charriere. The featured painting, titled The Spirit of a Line, captures the rugged beauty of the alpine biome surrounding Anthamatten's hometown. The ski itself is identical to the existing Faction Dancer 3, a 106mm underfoot big-mountain freeride ski. The limited-edition run is available exclusively on Faction's website.
Alongside the new skis, Anthamatten also helped develop a new signature goggle with Julbo, the Launcher. These goggles are purpose-built for ski touring, with a polarized photochromic lens that partially pops out of the frame to offer unmatched ventilation. 200 pairs of these will be available on Julbo's website here.
