Vail Resorts isn’t the only mountain group with some hot deals for this upcoming ski season. Alterra, the company behind the popular Ikon Pass, is continuing its pass discounts for students through the College Club Program.
Through the program, college students can currently pick up a complete Ikon Pass for $979—that’s $450 less than the general public pricing. The discounted Ikon Base Pass, which offers more limited access to ski resorts, costs $649.
To qualify, you must be a college student who can provide proof of enrollment with the submission of a class schedule and date. As the Ikon Pass discount is connected to college clubs, you may also need to show proof of club membership to access it.

Without a discount, the complete Ikon Pass currently costs $1,429 (as of August 22, 2025). The Ikon Base Pass costs $1,009. There will likely be an Ikon Pass product price increase as winter approaches.

Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass has a discount for college students, although it's smaller, reducing the price of the Epic Local Pass from $799 to $723 (there are other discounted Epic Pass products for college students, too, like the Northeast Value Pass).
What Vail Resorts does have, though, is a new, recently announced buddy ticket system for Epic Pass holders.
This winter, those with an Epic Pass, Epic Local Pass, Epic Military Pass, Northeast Value Pass, and most of the company’s other season-long passes will receive six to ten Epic Friend Tickets. These referrals can be given to your buddies, scoring them a 50% discount on lift tickets at Vail Resorts’ 37 North American mountains.
The price of Epic Pass products increases on September 1.
For those interested in smaller, independent ski areas, consider the Indy Pass. It provides two days of skiing at more than 250 partner mountains. While the Indy Pass was previously sold out because capacity had been met, the brand recently added new ski areas. That means the pass will become available again for a limited time on August 28.
Similar to the Indy Pass, the Mountain Collective offers two days of skiing at multiple resorts. Instead of focusing on under-the-radar mountains, though, the Mountain Collective includes major destinations like Alta Ski Area and Aspen Snowmass. It currently costs $669.
The Power Pass costs $1,049 and offers access to ski resorts mostly in the American Southwest, including Purgatory Resort and Arizona Snowbowl. It also includes ten interconnected days at Valle Nevado and La Parva, Chile.
This is hardly an exhaustive list. Several more niche multi-passes, like the Boyne Passport, are available, too.
