BC is coming off of some great totals in the past 4 days. General 4-day totals were in the 9-15 inch range with conditions that have been improving steadily over the past week. Whitewater in Nelson BC has seen over 133CM in the past 7 days! Whistler has seen 189 CMs in the past week. That is nearly 1/4 of the total snowfall they have had all season.

The weather models are very consistent in bringing in a strong area of low pressure off the BC coast beginning later Thursday or early on Friday. This low-pressure system is very moist and contains decent cold air with snow levels starting near 2500-3,000 feet early in the storm cycle and finishing colder to near 1800 feet.

Snow density will be a bit dense at lower elevations (Mixed rain-snow is possible at the base initially) with good quality from mid to upper slopes. Snow will likely be accumulating in the Valley towards Saturday night or Sunday.
