What a time to be alive. Union Binding Co. now makes boots.

The Reset Pro snowboard boot, designed in collaboration with team rider Travis Rice, was released to the general public in the fall of 2025. Billed as the “future of modern snowboard boot design,” the boot is the first from the brand that typically only makes bindings.

The Reset Pro is advertised as a high-performance boot for all-mountain riders. It advertises itself as a stiffer boot, and with a big mountain god like Rice behind the design, that is to be expected.

If you’re expecting a ski boot cosplaying as a snowboard boot, however, change your expectations. These boots are ultra-customizable and equally suited for the terrain park as they are for charging big-mountain lines. A rebound bushing system absorbs impact and helps riders with foot fatigue, and the Forma Pro memory foam liner offers more comfort and support. It has an Ortholite footbed, heat-reflective foil to retain warmth, and a natural rubber outsole to help maintain grip.

Union has since added team riders Miles Fallon and Austin Vizz to its program, which is a good indication for anyone who will absolutely be not riding huge spines like T-Rice but still wants to dabble in this boot.

MSRP: $650

The Context

I rode this at Breckenridge and Loveland Pass in Colorado and Loon in New Hampshire, Brighton in Utah, and Appalachian Ski Mountain and Sugar Mountain in North Carolina. I rode this in frigid temperatures, light snowfall, spring conditions, and rain. I used this boot in the backcountry, side country, and terrain park.

What Snowboarder Says:

Let’s address the elephant in the room right away: spending north of $600 for a brand’s first snowboard boot is a steep ask for a customer. I’m well aware of that.

With that being said, I had absolutely no break-in period with these boots. It’s one of the best pairs of boots I’ve ever worn, and if you’re on the fence about buying them and in a financial position to do so, go ahead and pull the trigger.

I received these in the mail just before flying to Breckenridge for the Rockstar Open, and wore them on my first day out at Loveland Pass without putting any work into breaking them in. I had zero problems. The boot fits true to size, and one of its big features is that it doesn’t stretch out over time. The footbed features Ortholite cushioning with a pretty thick heel. Unlike many entry and mid-level boots, you won’t have to switch those out for third-party footbeds to have an enjoyable experience.

The boot is truly a medium-flex boot, despite being advertised as stiff. I could still tweak easily in the park. The low profile of the boot fits easily in your bindings and eliminates issues with heel and toe drag.

The Reset Pro is an extremely durable boot that can be hosed down after trekking through springtime parking lot slush. Where it thrives the most is board feel. The minimalist design gives the rider as few barriers as possible between their board and their feet.

One issue some riders have experienced is the height of the ankle BOA. I’ve heard accounts of riders who rotate their highbacks or implement forward lean have sometimes had the BOA pop off while on the hill. That has never happened to me, but in fairness, I often rode these boots with FASE bindings (the ThirtyTwo Team and the Jones Mercury) which have slightly shorter highbacks.

It looks like Union will release two new boots for the 2026-2027 season: the Reset – which is just a more flexible version of the boot we’re reviewing here, and the Factory, which features an external power strap and traditional laces. The 2026-2027 Reset Pro will feature a Vibram outsole. That’s a good thing, because the soles are not as grippy as I’d like them to be, especially riding on the east coast.

Who is this boot for?

A rider looking for a boot to last several seasons. A big mountain rider who still takes laps through the terrain park.
