Collaborations: they're kind of 686's thing.

From Huf to New Balance to Malbon to the Grateful Dead and Iron Maiden, the snowboarder-owned outerwear company has never shied away from partnering with other brands. Now, this latest collaboration pays homage to one of the most beloved parts of snowboarding: cheap beer.

686 has teamed up with Pabst Blue Ribbon for a series of on-snow gear. Perhaps the most innovative idea is the PBR Cooler insulated jacket.

Hit the slopes for some party laps with a new way to keep your drinks cold and pop a top with this stealthy jacket.

The jacket is designed to allow you to bring après with you, anywhere you go. A 6-pack cooler is built into the jacket, and so is a bottle opener. infiDRY™ 10K waterproof fabric and light insulation keep the wearer warm and dry while keeping the beers cold.

If you're thinking to yourself, "Wow, great idea, but this sounds familiar. Didn't someone make this already?" you'd be right! And that company that made this jacket already? 686, back in 2017. That jacket was dubbed "the Sixer" and was born out of team members riding with a good-sized crew and stuffing beers in their pockets in Colorado.

“It’s a true example of asking ‘What if?’ and then finding a solution through design. We couldn’t be more pleased with the final outcome," 686 CEO Michael Akira West said in an interview 9 years ago.

The jacket also comes equipped with a media pocket, an internal goggle lens stash pocket, an inner key clip, and an adjustable powder skirt. There are underarm vents and hand pocket zippers, as well as a helmet-compatible hood. Three internal pockets and eight external pockets give riders plenty of chances to stash beers.

The cooler jacket is just one of nine signature items born from the collaboration.

Riders can also grab one of two mittens (either the Infiloft Recon mitt or the Primer mitt), snowboard socks, a PBR beanie, a balaclava, and a neck gaiter. For those looking to rep the beer brand while riding, but not stuffing it to the max with cold ones, 686 is making a branded version of its waterproof hoodie available.

Lastly, 686 is releasing a version of its Smarty Magnetic goggles with the PBR logo on the strap.

You can find the jacket online at 686's website, as well as in your local shop. This is one of five snow collaborations the brand has announced for the 2025-2026 season. Huf, Anti Social Social Club, the band Sublime, and Mystery Ranch have also collaborated with 686 for this season.
