Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal want Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho after his failed move to Chelsea this summer window. Sancho enjoyed a loan spell at Chelsea last season, triggering an obligation to buy after a certain number of appearances.
However, the failed salary negotiations with the England international stopped that permanent transfer from happening during the current transfer window. Sancho had an infamous fallout with former United boss Erik ten Hag, which subsequently resulted in his season-long loan spell.
United have appointed Ruben Amorim as a successor to Ten Hag, but the managerial change has not shifted Sancho’s status. Amorim wants to sell Sancho and take him out of the wage expenses while using any transfer fee this window.
Man United are struggling with financial issues and would have to sell their surplus to back Amorim properly this summer. Chelsea paid a £5 million penalty, instead of paying a cheap transfer fee of between £20m and £25m for Sancho.
Chelsea’s decision highlights the downfall of Sancho, who joined the Red Devils for £73 million in the summer of 2021. The 25-year-old attacker made 42 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists last season.
According to Fichajes, the Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal want Sancho from Man United during the summer transfer window. The high-spending clubs from Saudi Arabia have the power to satisfy the wage demand of the 25-year-old despite his consistent failures.
Furthermore, Sancho has a chance to rejuvenate his career and regain the confidence that he lost since leaving Borussia Dortmund. As for United, at this point, they would be happy to just get Sancho out of their inflated wage expenses.
The Red Devils demanded only £25m from their Premier League arch-rivals, Chelsea, so it is highly unlikely that they would raise that demand and risk losing another suitor for their outcast. Furthermore, United cannot waste time on dragging any transfer deals over their surplus, given the importance of this window.
