Manchester United have received a major transfer boost as Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo wants to join the club this summer. United are planning a massive squad overhaul during the summer transfer window to back Ruben Amorim before the next season.

The Red Devils endured a terrible last season, finishing 16th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final. Amorim struggled to implement his philosophy and tactics as the current United team lacked the acumen and quality to perform.

The former Sporting CP manager has refused to change his style of play to accommodate the senior player he inherited. At the same time, United have opted to have faith in Amorim, instead of appointing someone else during the summer.

Despite the financial issues that they are facing, the Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m. United intend to partner the Brazil international with Mbeumo, who is also versatile enough to play at different attacking positions.

The Athletic reported that Brentford star Mbeumo has decided to join United, with Sky Sports reporting the price above £60m. The 25-year-old attacker made 42 appearances for Brentford in all competitions last season, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists.

Mbeumo dominantly plays as a right winger, but has the versatility to play centrally as a second striker and striker. United have displayed their ability to attract top talent despite their current predicament compared to their competitive Premier League rivals.

At the same time, the Red Devils are planning to spend more than £100m on only two positions in attack. United have a lot of vulnerability within their squad, which Amorim needs to address this summer while selling their surplus.

Rest assured, a potential Mbeumo signing is a fantastic business for United and a display of intent by the club. With a plethora of Premier League experience and the ability to adjust according to the requirements, both Mbeumo and Cunha can build a formidable partnership.
