While UEFA have given permission for the Lega Serie A to play Milan vs. Como in Australia, the organisation of the fixture in Perth is not confirmed yet.

The biggest obstacle to the scheduling of the match on Australian soil was certainly the opposition of UEFA, so this is a huge step forward.

It is not quite done yet, though, because FIFA still need to give the all clear for the domestic league game to be played outside that country.

Calcio e Finanza are confident that should arrive over the next few days, as they tend to align with UEFA on these matters.

When AC Milan vs. Como should be played

The Serie A Week 24 match ought to be played on the weekend of February 8, 2026.

Milan and Como were helped by the inclusion of Barcelona and Villarreal wanting their LaLiga match to be moved to Miami, Florida in December.

Between the four clubs, and two League organisations, they were able to argue the UEFA rules are not clear enough to ban this change of venue.

However, UEFA were also adamant in their statement that these are “extraordinary” circumstances and do “not set a precedent.”

It will make these the first ever Serie A and LaLiga fixtures to be played abroad, although the fact they have chosen to cross the globe to entirely different continents is going to raise eyebrows.

They consider these to be valuable opportunities to provide an international spotlight on their clubs and leagues as a whole.
