Over the last few years, Crystal Palace have seen some of their top players continuously leave Selhurst Park.

Michael Olise left in the summer of 2024 to join Bayern Munich for £60 million.

Eberechi Eze left last summer to join Arsenal for £67.5 million.

Marc Guehi left in January 2026 to join Manchester City for £20 million after nearly joining Liverpool in the summer.

Now, Adam Wharton is looking set to be the next departure.

Since the start of the season, his name has been firmly on Manchester United’s shortlist to replace Casemiro.

While he and Elliot Anderson were initially joined by Carlos Baleba in a trio of targets, the Brighton midfielder has seemingly been replaced by Sandro Tonali.

At the moment, the Newcastle United midfielder looks set to be United’s priority target, while Manchester City look to be leading the race for Anderson.

However, The Sun has now reported that Adam Wharton is keen to leave Crystal Palace in search of Champions League football.

The England international has had a taste of European football after helping The Eagles qualify for the UEFA Conference League by winning the FA Cup last season.

The cup win was the club’s first ever trophy as they then went on to beat Liverpool in the Community Shield, doubling their trophy haul in a matter of months.

However, with Wharton’s contract set in place until 2029, Palace would need to agree his departure, with The Eagles wanting a fee of around £100 million for him previously.

The valuation was previously given with his status as a proven Premier League midfielder, however as Crystal Palace are set to face Fiorentina in the Conference League Quarter-Finals, he’s also now shown he can hold his own in Europe.

For now, he remains on the United shortlist, even if Tonali appears to have edged ahead as a preferred signing.
