The 2024 summer transfer window is still two months away, but Real Madrid are already making plans for the 2025 instalment. Specifically, this is in regards to Florian Wirtz, who’s attracted the attention of those in the club’s sporting department.

Wirtz has had a sensational season with Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 18 goals and laying on 19 assists for the Bundesliga champions. He has been one of the standout players in Europe, and his performances have seen interest build in his services – Los Blancos are one of the teams going for him.

No move will be made this summer, with Real Madrid considering the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro instead, but Marca have reported that Wirtz will be the top target in 2025. Initial work is already being done behind the scenes to ensure that the young playmaker will be at the club from the 2025-26 season onwards.

Juni Calafat and and Jose Angel Sanchez are working stealthily on the deal behind the scenes, as Real Madrid aim to beating the chasing pack to Wirtz’s signature. They do not expect him to leave Leverkusen this coming summer, and if they can win the race, it would be another remarkable signing.
