Monday’s reports claim that Carlo Ancelotti has already been appointed, signed the contracts and agreed a date to start life as head coach of the Brazil national team.

Ancelotti, who has spent the last four years in Spain in his second stint with Real Madrid, will begin work as head coach on May 26, as was originally reported at the end of April and confirmed by David Ornstein of The Athletic on Monday.

Monday’s reports claim that the contracts have been signed and that Ancelotti will officially begin his tenure in charge of Brazil on May 26, one day after Real Madrid’s LaLiga season finishes.

Ancelotti appointed head coach of Brazil

That means that Ancelotti will be in the role in time to lead the team into their crucial World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay on June 6 and June 11.

His most pressing priority will be to name his first Brazil national team squad, which could be announced before the end of May.
