Arsenal have completed the signing of Vincent Joseph from Liverpool, securing one of the Reds’ highly regarded teenage talents this campaign.

Joseph has generally been considered one of the best talents in youth football in England and was in superb form for Liverpool’s youth teams, leading the club to make serious efforts to keep him. As soon as Liverpool learned of Arsenal’s interest, they tried to prevent the move from happening, but the Gunners had already convinced the teenager to join and pushed ahead with the deal.

Arsenal have now announced the arrival of the 16-year-old on their official website, with Joseph becoming the latest highly rated player to join their academy setup. He will also be reunited with some of the players he plays alongside at international level.

Joseph joins Arsenal academy

Joseph has performed well across most of his seasons as a youth player and joins Arsenal as a first year scholar. He will now look to continue developing his game and work towards becoming one of the stars of the first team in the future.

The teenager arrives with an impressive goalscoring record from his time with Liverpool and England at youth level. Arsenal will hope he can continue that progress after making the move to north London.

A delighted Arsenal wrote on its website,:

“After getting off to a brilliant start at under 18s level for Liverpool last season, Vincent is keen for more opportunities to develop his game.

“Our new striker will be hoping to help us chase trophies at Academy level this season, and his outstanding goalscoring record could prove important in such a push.

Joseph brings impressive record

“As well as scoring three goals in his first two under 18s games last season, the England youth international has scored eight times in his nine games for the England under 16s side, also providing an assist.”

Those numbers demonstrate why Joseph has attracted attention and why Arsenal have moved to secure his services. His performances for Liverpool and England have provided a strong foundation for the next stage of his development.

The Gunners will now give Joseph the opportunity to continue his progress within their academy. His immediate focus will be on adapting to his new surroundings, contributing at academy level and developing the qualities required to progress through the club’s system.
