Arteta after overcoming Chelsea: I feel a huge disappointment

The Arsenal manager praises Tsouli and Raya

Mikel Arteta was left feeling a great sense of disappointment despite Arsenal's 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday evening at the Emirates Stadium, in the third round of the Premier League.

New signing Morgan Rogers put Chelsea ahead inside two minutes, but Arsenal turned the tables and won it through goals from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard.

Arteta told Sky Sports: "I feel a great sense of disappointment about the way we conceded the goal, but credit to them also for the wonderful final touch that Morgan (Rogers) applied.

As reported by "BBC", he added: "It was a pleasure to watch our team play and compete, we saw an outstanding individual performance, and the atmosphere at the stadium was wonderful. I am interested in our reaction. We demand more energy, effectiveness and attacking intent, and you saw that today."

Turning to Arsenal's attack, he explained: "We missed players for six months, and five months, and Saka for three and a half months, and Havertz for seven months. Despite that, the team's performance was astonishing last season."

Greek new signing Christos Tzolis also drew praise. "He was astonishing once again. He showed it, as his level of threat, work rate and decision-making are wonderful to watch."

Goalkeeper David Raya earned similar words. "That save he made against Estevao with that individual move. His presence and the way he catches every cross one by one are extremely valuable."
