Morgan Rogers has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League following another outstanding season with Aston Villa.
Manchester United supporters will be particularly interested in the latest developments.
Back in April, CentreDevils revealed that Rogers had emerged as a player high on Manchester United’s shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.
The England international enjoyed an impressive campaign under Unai Emery and played a key role as Villa secured Champions League qualification for a second successive season.
Rogers also won the Europa League alongside Jadon Sancho, who spent the season on loan at Villa from Manchester United and is set to leave Old Trafford permanently this summer.
However, fresh reports suggest clubs hoping to sign Rogers could face a major obstacle.
According to Sky Sports, several top clubs continue to monitor the 22-year-old closely.
Arsenal are believed to lead the race for Rogers, while Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also credited with serious interest.
Despite the growing interest, Sky Sports report that Aston Villa have informed interested clubs that they do not want to sell Morgan Rogers this summer.
The report adds that Villa would not welcome any bids and have therefore not placed a clear valuation on the England star.
That stance is understood to be discouraging formal approaches.
Indeed, Sky Sports state that no club has made an official bid for Rogers so far, although some sources expect Arsenal to test Villa’s resolve in the coming weeks.
Villa are expected to sanction at least one major sale this summer as they look to fund their own transfer plans.
However, Sky Sports also report that there is no June 30 deadline for the Midlands club to comply with Premier League or UEFA financial regulations, despite recent speculation.
For now, Villa remain determined to keep hold of one of their most important players.
It means any club hoping to sign Rogers this summer may need to produce an extraordinary offer to change the club’s position.
