Real Madrid is 2nd in the league table with 33 points and has a record of 10 wins, three draws, and one loss.

Athletic Bilbao won their last league game over the weekend after playing against Levante. Bilbao defeated Levante 2-0 away from home with goals from Robert Navarro and Nico Williams.

Real Madrid played away from home over the weekend against Girona. Once again, Real Madrid did not win away from home and drew 1-1 with Girona. Azzedine Ounahi scored the opener for Girona, but Kylian Mbappe equalized in the 67th minute via a penalty kick.

The last time Real Madrid played against Athletic Club was last season on April 20, 2025, at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid defeated Athletic Bilbao 1-0 with a late goal from Federico Valverde.
