Marc Cucurella is a target for Atletico Madrid this summer, although they worry about one area of his game.
Marc Cucurella is a key player for Chelsea and a Barcelona youth graduate, but it seems he’s not too picky when it comes to moving back to Spain this summer.
His voiced his concerns about Chelsea back in the spring, giving everyone a clear sign he was thinking of leaving. Atletico Madrid appear to be a perfect options given they need a top player in his position.
Reports came out last week that Atletico were targeting the left back, but a journalist on Twitter said they were worried about a physical decline.
The concerns about him “physically declining” are understandable – he’s 28 now so about to pass his physical peak. But the reality is that any decline in the short term can easily be explained by the fact that he’s been forced to play for three seasons without a break, with the Euros and then the Club World Cup in the summer.
The fun doesn’t stop, of course – he will be at the World Cup with Spain as a starter this summer.
The average ratings from Chelsea’s season make for interesting reading, with some players higher than you might expect.
Aaron Anselmino has a very interesting summer ahead – we wonder what Xabi Alonso is going to make of his skillset?
